The Islanders announced this morning that Rick DiPietro, who was supposed to play the first full game of his comeback on Friday night for Bridgeport but left after two periods because of leg stiffness, was held out of practice today and won’t start tomorrow for the Islanders’ AHL affiliate, as he had been scheduled to do.

The oft-injured goalie last played in an NHL game on Jan. 2 and his rehab had been going well- albeit slowly- until Friday’s setback. DiPietro was sent to Bridgeport for a two-week conditioning stint and he is slated to rejoin the Isles later this week.
