RALEIGH, N.C. — Sebastian Aho scored for the Hurricanes.

As a four-minute double minor wound down near the midpoint of the second period of the Islanders’ crushing 4-3 overtime defeat to the Hurricanes on Wednesday night in Game 2, the Isles’ Sebastian Aho clipped a puck that was being sent into the defensive zone.

It took a bad bounce, then got past Ilya Sorokin to give Carolina a 2-0 lead.

It was a worst-case scenario for the Islanders, who were on their way to killing off the penalty, and a bizarre coincidence in the first-ever series featuring two players with the same first and last name.
