ISLANDERS SIGN TWO COACHES

The Islanders yesterday hired former Blue Jackets head coach Gerard Gallant and John Chabot as assistants to Ted Nolan.
Gallant scored 211 goals for Detroit and Tampa Bay, then coached Columbus from 2003-04 through last season.
Chabot, a former Canadien, Penguin and Red Wing, coached at Acadie-Bathurst and Hull in the Quebec junior league.
They join incumbent Dan Lacroix on Nolan’s staff.
