KHL calls Keenan
Mike Keenan, the former Rangers coach led the team to a Stanley Cup in 1994, has a new coaching gig, but not in the NHL.
Keenan signed a two-year contract this weekend to coach Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL. He has coached eight teams in his career, most recently 2009 with the Flames.
“Just signed contract with Magnitogorsk of KHL. Looking forward to new coaching opportunity!” Keenan tweeted early yesterday. He also made a video on YouTube expressing how happy he is to be the new coach.
Keenan, 63, has 672 career NHL wins. He had been serving as an analyst for the NBC Sports Network during the regular season.
