The most-mentioned candidate for the Devils’ coaching job says he’s had no discussions at all for the position he once held. Jacques Lemaire is beginning to despair.

“There’s been nothing, nothing at all. I haven’t spoken to anyone,” Lemaire told The Post last night. “Maybe I’m going to be a retired person.”

Lemaire refuted a rumor that he visited Newark and the Devils’ brass yesterday, saying he played in a charity golf tournament outside Montreal.

“But there’s nothing going on,” Lemaire said.
