I’m a day late (and a few dollars short, to say the least), but just got tipped to a report on the Fourth Period website that Michael Nylander and the Rangers are close to an agreement.

The Swedish paper Expressen reports Nylander as saying: “It can be solved at any minute now,” with regard to his contract status.

“The interest is mutual,” Nylander expounds. “I like the team and the team likes me. I have had two really good seasons in New York, and I would like that to continue.”

Well, if that’s an indication that he’ll be sticking around, I welcome the news.
