Alex Pietrangelo is officially off the market. 

The superstar defenseman finalized a seven-year, $61.6 million deal with the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday, the team announced.
Pietrangelo, 30, was the most coveted free agent entering the offseason.

The contract includes includes a full no-movement clause for the former first-round pick who captained the Blues to a Stanley Cup in 2019. 

Before the move was announced, the Knights traded defenseman Nate Schmidt to Vancouver for a third-round draft pick in order to clear cap space.

Pietrangelo now holds the league’s fifth-highest cap hit ($8.8 million) among defenseman, behind San Jose’s Erik Karlsson, Los Angeles’ Drew Doughty, Nashville’s Roman Josi and the Devils’ P.K. Subban.
