The Stanley Cup Final will begin on Saturday June 8, the NHL announced Thursday.
The series, with a potential Game 7 on June 24, is scheduled to incorporate an extra off day when the two teams travel, meaning the only times it will play every other day is between Games 1 and 2 and Games 3 and 4.
There will also be a considerable layoff between the end of the conference finals and the start of the Cup Final.
A potential Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final will be played on Monday night at Madison Square Garden, with five days between then and Game 1 of the Cup Final.

The Rangers, who entered Thursday’s Game 5 tied 2-2 with the Panthers, would open the Cup Final at home regardless of opponent.
