Rangers fans go nuts after incredible Game 2 overtime win: ‘We want the Cup!’

The Garden was Eden for Rangers fans on Friday — and also a little bonkers.

Barclay Goodrow sent the Blueshirts faithful into a frenzy when he scored the game-winning goal in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Panthers to even up the series at one apiece.

After Goodrow took the shot from the middle of the slot and wristed it past the blocker of Florida netminder Sergei Bobrovsky, the 18,006 at the World’s Most Famous Arena all exalted and waved their rally towels simultaneously — with the noise of their voices deafening.

As fans poured out of the arena on cloud nine, they started chanting about what their real aspirations are.

Barclay Goodrow’s overtime heroics ended Panthers’ historic playoff streaks

Barclay Goodrow wasn’t about to let it happen on the Rangers’ home ice.

Barclay Goodrow’s goal at 14:01 of overtime gave the Rangers the 2-1 win in Game 2, leveling the Eastern Conference Final and snapping a historic Panthers streak.

Entering Friday’s game, Florida had won 11 straight overtime games in the playoffs, eight of them on the road, in a stretch that began in the 2021 postseason.

There were the Rangers we’ve come to know in overtime of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final on Friday night at Madison Square Garden. 

The team that’s coined ”No Quit in New York” as their slogan for a reason. 

Once Barclay Goodrow scored 14:01 into the extra period to take a 2-1 win over the Panthers and even up the series at one win a piece as it heads down to Florida, the prior stressful 60 minutes of regulation suddenly didn’t hold as much weight.
