If you ever have suffered a minor injury that kept you out of work a couple days, prepare to be embarrassed.
Meet Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid.
In a 3-2 win over the Devils on Saturday, McQuaid took a skate directly to the throat from teammate David Backes.
McQuaid needed 25 stitches to his neck to sew up the wound, and while he missed practice Sunday, the Bruins said they do not expect him to miss Monday’s game.
To sum up: McQuaid took a blade to the throat, got 25 stitches and won’t miss a day of work. So next time you wake up with a sniffle, give a thought to the Bruins’ apparently indestructible defenseman.
