NJ.com reports it’s possible Jacques Lemaire could return to coach the New Jersey Devils.

Asked directly if he was talking to the Devils about replacing Brent Sutter, Lemaire “hesitated and then answered: ‘I can’t say that. I can’t talk about that.'”

Lemaire told writer Rich Chere he planned to decide his future before the NHL Draft, June 26.

“There is nothing so far. I’m still talking to teams. I haven’t made a decision yet,” Lemaire said. “Nothing is done. Just talking. No direct offers. …

“You’ll have to ask Lou (Lamoriello, Devils GM) and the other teams I’m talking to,” Lemaire said with a laugh. “There are a few teams there.” The Web site also reports that center John Madden plans to become an unrestricted free agent July 1, with no negotiations scheduled with the Deivls as of now.
