Robin Lehner is due a raise this summer, and he wants it to come from the Islanders.

The pending free-agent goalie starred in his first season with the Isles, posting a career-high 25 wins to go with 13 losses, a 2.13 goals-against average and .930 save percentage and emerging as a finalist for the Vezina Trophy. His recovery from mental illness and substance abuse made him a finalist for the NHL’s Masterton Trophy.

“I like the people there,” he told media ahead of Wednesday’s NHL Awards. “I love my teammates. I love the organization. So obviously I want to be back.”

Lehner’s admission is a big help to GM Lou Lamoriello, who still has the Swedish netminder on his to-do list in the offseason. He played 2018-19 on a one-year deal worth $1.5 million, but the 27-year-old is projected for a hefty increase.

Lamoriello has already locked up forwards Brock Nelson and Jordan Eberle this spring, with Lehner and captain Anders Lee the two biggest priorities remaining.
