Not so fast on that contract Alexei Semenov agreed to with the Rangers last night, for the 28-year defenseman has had second thoughts after sleeping on it.
Semenov, who earned a roster spot after attedfing training camp on a tryout, is believed weighing an offer from the KHL in Russia against the one-year, $600,000 contract offer from GM Glen Sather he (or agent Allan Walsh) verbally accepted.
Semenov is traveling with the team to Pittsburgh, where the Rangers open the season tomorrow.
If Semenov does not sign, the Blueshirts would likely go with six defensemen on the roster for the time being while perusing the list of available veterans to serve as the standby seventh on the blue line.
