While it appears any chance Brendan Shanahan will play for the Rangers has past, he may suit up for one of their biggest rivals.
The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that Shanahan and the Flyers’ general manager Paul Holmgrem have talked about the possibility of the forward signing with Philadelphia.
“It’s just very exploratory, on Brendan’s part and on our part,” Holmgren told the Inquirer. “But if you have an opportunity to add a good player who doesn’t cost you any assets, you have to look into it. He’s an experienced player and has been on three Stanley Cup champions, and his presence on the ice and in the locker room would be invaluable.”
