If only they stopped the presses.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch embarrassingly published a letter from team owner Tom Stillman on Sunday that celebrated a championship the team has yet to win.

“Winning the Stanley Cup was a dream come true for so many of you. All of us will remember where we were, what we did and how we felt when the Blues brought the Cup home,” Stillman wrote.

A dream nearly come true. Still searching for the franchise’s first title, the Blues lead the Boston Bruins, 3-2, in the Final with Game 6 scheduled for Sunday night in St. Louis.

The letter, featured among advertisements paying tribute to the unfinished business, appeared in the digital edition of the publication, according to ESPN, before being removed.

“We are so very proud of our players, our organization and our fans. And now, together, we can finally say ‘We won the Cup for St. Louis,'” Stillman wrote. “We look forward to celebrating with you as we parade the Cup down Market Street.”
