THE ISSUE: The hijacking and murder of four American yachters by Somali pirates.

The free world must unite to track down and destroy pirates so that this unfortunate incident doesn’t happen again (“Dead Pirate = Good Pirate,” Editorial, Feb. 23).
It won’t be easy, but it must be a top priority to return some sense of normalcy and safety for those who travel by sea.
I hope the gutless United Nations will lead the way, but I’m not holding my breath.

“Dead Pirate = Good Pirate” completely misses the mark when it exploits the tragic deaths of Scott and Jean Adam to argue that members of the American armed forces should murder people rather than forcing them to face charges in a court of law.
Our soldiers take oaths to defend this country and her Constitution. In what world would that oath be served by gunning down enemies who have surrendered?

Where was President Obama when all this was going down? He could have picked up the phone and made the call to kill all of these terrorists.
Maybe the Americans would be alive today had he done so.

Our president is cowardly in his reaction to murderous behavior against Americans.
It is imperative that an international rule of law be initiated against piracy.
All nations that revere liberty should react forcefully in the face of such despicable behavior.
This administration’s muteness is indefensible.
