Investigative websites Bellingcat and The Insider announced Tuesday they’d ID’d the second of the two Russian operatives fingered in the March poisoning of UK citizen Sergei Skripal and his daughter. This puts the final nail in thugocrat Vladimir Putin’s lies about the outrageous attack.

The Skripals recovered from the military-grade nerve agent Novichok, but a British woman exposed by chance died. This a violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention as well as a terror attack on British soil.

Moscow has consistently denied it all, even putting the two men fingered in the attack on TV to claim they were just innocent tourists who’d visited the local cathedral after the British government released photos of the two Russians and their aliases.

Yet now, citing extensive evidence, Bellingcat and its Russian-based partner have shown that the two in fact are GRU operatives Dr. Alexander Mishkin and Anatoliy Chepiga. Each has been on the scene during Russian operations in Ukraine, the Transnistrian Republic and elsewhere. And both have received the Hero of Russia award — given only with Putin’s personal approval.

Bald-faced, flimsy lies are Putin’s standard procedure — and one more reason for the civilized world to isolate his criminal regime.
