The Page Six article on my comments at the Republican State Committee meeting in New York City on Dec. 12 did not mention my reference to the program in Philadelphia last week devoted to stories such as those told by Bill Meehan, the long-time Philadelphia Republican leader (“Specter’s Strange Humor,” Dec. 13).

As I said, those were his stories.

But I did repeat them. I now see it would have been preferable not to have repeated them.

I regret if anyone was offended, and I apologize.
