Can someone please explain to me this absurd obsession with celebrities and their babies?

Am I in the minority when I say that I could not care less about Lopez and her babies?

Why should anyone make such a fuss over, let alone pay millions for photos of, newborn twins of a self-absorbed, over-exposed celebrity of questionable talent who has contributed little to the betterment of society?

With all of the problems we are facing in the world today, rich celebrities, who get even richer just by reproducing, should be the lowest of priorities.

This is one aspect of our culture that befuddles me beyond belief.
