Matt Welsh has articulated why President Obama is losing the less-than-faithful progressive movement within his own party (“Obama’s Lost Year,” PostScript, Dec. 20).

No politician has the real power to give these wild-eyed children every toy in the store.

At some point, Obama’s empty promises had no other course but to show themselves for what they truly are — a means to a disastrous end.

Obama is surely more suited to show business where the very sight of oneself is the accomplishment.
