Big Blue heaven
The New York Giants this afternoon open up what they hope will be another championship run, hosting the Atlanta Falcons in the Meadowlands.
It looks to be a heavy lift, but we wish them the best.
And who knows: Just four years ago, didn’t the sometimes shaky Giants end up knocking off the previously undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII?
Frankly, this team looks a lot like that ’07 model — squeezing into the playoffs on the final day of an up-and-down regular season.
So, don’t let that 9-7 record fool you: Two decisive end-of-season wins have shown that Big Blue is already in playoff mode — especially with a now-healthy defensive unit.
A Super Bowl XLVI trophy?
Believe it, New York. (And New Jersey.)
Go, Giants!
