I love the concept of free market, but tell me, Josephe Morelle, is cooperative-buying among small stores code language for price-fixing for consumers (“Uncorking NY’s Economy,” PostOpinion, June 2)?

Will the “sale of additional products” include gambling? And will the requirement that 100% of customers be ID-proofed mean that adults without valid state ID would not be able to purchase alcohol? While more competition is great, more regulations, gambling, higher prices and the possibility of supplying state IDs for those here illegally in order to purchase alcohol may be more than New Yorkers want.
