Great news that the jury voted for the death penalty for Steven Hayes (“This Fiend Belongs in Hell,” Nov. 9).

But will Connecticut’s new governor, Dan Malloy, have the guts to pull the switch, or is it going to be years and years of this monster living off the taxpayers?

Hayes tried to kill himself numerous times in jail and failed. There is no reason for this coward to be alive any more.

The government should start using Middle Eastern justice and behead him, or set fire to his cell while he is awake. The money being wasted is a disgrace.
