Gov. Andrew Cuomo has ordered state parole officers to give “high priority attention” to registering ex-cons to vote. That should resolve any remaining doubts about his penchant for heavy-handed, politically driven micromanagement.

In a memo provided to The Post, Team Cuomo orders senior staff at the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision to ensure that officers provide the parolees they supervise with “voter-registration forms, related complementary documents and assistance with the registration process.”

Left unsaid is that the gov expects every parolee to register as a Democrat and vote for him this November. After all, they only have the right to vote thanks to Cuomo’s recent executive order.

In short, the “high priority” is politics — not parole officers’ serious duty to help their charges stay out of trouble and find a place in society.

Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R-Batavia), who brought the memo to The Post, calls it “the most outlandish abuse of power and taxpayer-funded resources I’ve witnessed.”

Plainly, Cuomo won’t be happy until three-time cop-killer Herman Bell — released by the gov’s Parole Board over the vehement objections of law enforcement and survivors of his victims — is proudly sporting one of those “I voted” stickers.
