Refusing to be discouraged by the multiple failures of his AndyLand economic-development “investments,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo dropped another one last week: $16 million in public funds to two companies for a promised 430 new jobs in Syracuse.

Between them, Bankers Healthcare Group and JMA Wireless will get a $4 million capital grant, a $7 million Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit and a $5 million Upstate Revitalization initiative grant.

That works out to about $37,000 per promised job, which is at least an improvement over the $833,000 a job of his Utica-area deal announced last month.

Then again, Cuomo has had multiple Syracuse deals collapse: He spent $90 million on a factory for lightbulb maker Soraa, which then backed out on its promised $1.3 billion investment and 420 new jobs. (He’s spent another $15 million trying to salvage that plan.)

And it all follows such debacles like the $15 million “film hub” and the still-flailing $750 million Buffalo solar plant.

Not to mention the multiple Cuomo donors and close aides sent to prison for outright corruption in these economic-development schemes.

How many billions will the governor burn before he admits this is no way to build New York’s economy?
