Maureen Callahan’s column, “Mister Nice Guy,” (PostScript, Sept. 27) is wonderful.

Attorney General Andrew Cuomo’s staff stiffed Callahan every step of the way, yet she still managed to give me real insight into the unannounced candidate.

I must admit, I don’t like what I see. I teach philosophy at Boston College, but, in another lifetime, I was an infantryman in Vietnam, and after that I went back to Vietnam as a journalist. I also worked in the United States as a journalist before I entered the Jesuits in 1977.

I do have some idea how much work went into Callahan’s column, and I enjoyed reading it. On a number of levels, her piece on Cuomo is an example of why The Post is much more interesting to read than The New York Times.
