Deja school
Every so often, we’re treated to another pie-in-the-sky article outlining how some new, innovative idea is going to change everything for the minority community, educationally speaking.
“The $100M School That Could Remake Harlem” (PostScript, Susan Edelman, May 1) is just the latest in a long line of such essays over the years. After the building is built and after the initial fanfare of how wonderful everything is going to be, sometime in the future, a six-line article will announce that the wonderful school is closing.
Not until the $100 million has disappeared, of course.
