Dishonoring the dead
As a Vietnam-era Navy veteran, I am appalled at the US Army’s misplacement or mislabeling of more than 200 bodies at Arlington National Cemetery (“Grave Shame,” June 11).
Arlington has always been viewed as this country’s most hallowed resting place for military personnel.
How on Earth did the Army let this happen? Arlington is sacred and holy ground to all veterans and citizens.
Army Secretary John McHugh must take immediate action to utilize technology to replace antiquated paper records. Arlington’s record-keeping needs to come into the 21st century. This cannot happen again.
