THE ISSUE: A US district court judge’s ruling blocking key parts of Arizona’s immigration law.
***
Rich Lowry provides an astute analysis of US District Judge Susan Bolton’s decision to gut most of Arizona’s tough immigration law (“Joke’s on Arizona,” PostOpinion, July 30).
There is nothing funny about Bolton’s weak-willed decision. I think there are very few people laughing.
But Lowry is right about one thing — emotions are running high over the Arizona law.
Comic relief may not be just what the doctor ordered, but it will have to do until the November elections. Then we’ll see who’s laughing.

The Arizona decision was expected.
Now we have a government and a judicial system against their own citizens. The only constant is the corruption of both.

The American Civil Liberties Union and Mexico are happy. The majority of Americans and Arizonans are not.
The liberal enemies of America strike again. It’s another week when something bad has happened in this country.

This was a wrongheaded decision by a Clinton appointee who is a part of the left-wing movement to allow illegal immigrants to stay here, ultimately gain the right to vote and keep the Democrats in power.
American citizens should realize that illegal immigrants and their votes are more important than the expressed wishes of the American people.
If Bolton claims that it is an “undue burden” for illegal immigrants to carry identification papers, then it must be an “undue burden” for American citizens to carry their required identification, as well.
Are we a nation of laws, or are we a nation of lawlessness?

I suppose that no one familiar with our cockeyed system of justice should be surprised that, hours before it was set to go into effect, key parts of Arizona’s groundbreaking immigration law were blocked by a US district court judge.
The beleaguered legal residents of Arizona are being told by our government that it is too risky to provide them with the protection that they deserve.
The state’s legislative process and the will of the people are of no consequence. They remain virtually powerless in challenging those who have violated our laws.
I would suggest that the activist judge walk a mile in the shoes of Arizona’s residents.
I hope that the tyranny inflicted on the people of Arizona is only fleeting and that our courts will ultimately set aside anarchy in favor of law and order.

A court stacked with Democratic appointees overturns Arizona’s stringent immigration laws.
Did anyone expect a different verdict?

Bolton was amazingly wrong to throw out key parts of Arizona’s law SB1070 because she fears police might make mistakes.
She has managed to promote illegal immigration and slap law enforcement at the same time.
It is common sense that law enforcement should be able to simply ask the status of those legally stopped.
Everyone should be required to have in his possession a document proving his legal status.
Liberal minds brought this lawsuit, and a liberal mind backed it. Now, as usual, innocents will suffer.

The Democratic judge has decided against Arizona.
I guess people no longer have the right to uphold the laws of the land.

The gutless Justice Department has its little victory.
It won’t enforce the law as it is too interested in pandering to illegal aliens.
