John Bolton’s analysis of the “fading options” to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is dead-on, except for its conclusion regarding the military option (“Dithering Diplomats,” PostOpinion, Nov. 6).

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s strategy from the outset was to destabilize the region to raise the price of oil. He has done so successfully.

A war with America would favor Iran, not America, sending the price of oil to $500-a-barrel. It would also embolden Islamist fascism.

The best option is to spend whatever it takes to make America energy independent. Then, let them choke on the black gook.
