THE ISSUE: The United States’ reliance on China purchasing US Treasuries to manage our debt.

***

Irate is the best word to describe how many of us feel about the Obama administration as it puts us in this terrible situation with China (“China’s Debt Bomb,” Arthur Herman, PostOpinion, Feb. 8).

Talk about giving away the most powerful, compassionate country in the history of the world. It’s obvious what President Obama thinks about the United States and what he wants to do about it — hate and destruction.

Arthur Herman draws attention to the danger of allowing Communist China to own $789 billion of our national debt.

The American people pay lower taxes than citizens of nearly any other affluent democracy, and those other democracies are not burdened with our huge military budget.

Any serious effort to deal with the debt problem will need to include higher taxes.

Where is America headed? We need jobs.

Is it impossible to build our Wal-Mart products here and keep the cash here?
