President Obama said that his policies would cause the cost of electricity to skyrocket. Well, it has, but not only because of Obama.

A Manhattan Institute study of the cost of renewable-energy mandates notes that, in most states, regulators have required utilities to obtain some power from renewables: wind, solar, etc.

Those sources aren’t nearly as efficient as coal and natural gas and cost far more per kilowatt-hour. So the cost is passed on to ratepayers, who have no idea that they are paying extra to subsidize “green” fantasies.
