“Small picture” reality, courtesy of reality: Pfizer will be shutting down a historic Brooklyn plant, costing 600 New Yorkers their jobs.

Why? Pfizer expects to lose $14 billion this year as patents expire on many of its best-selling products. Other Pfizer closings will put another 10,000 Americans out of work.

So much for demagoguery.
