Disgraced former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has worn out his appeals — Hallelujah!

The US Supreme Court on Monday said it won’t hear his final effort to escape his conviction for accepting bribes (nearly $4 million worth), money-laundering, extortion and other crimes.

That means Silver, 76, will stay exactly where he belongs: behind bars at Otisville Correctional Facility.

Good, because it took far too long to get him there. He got his first conviction, back in November 2015, tossed on appeal in 2017.

After his second set of guilty verdicts in May 2018, he remained free while pursuing more appeals. He didn’t actually report to Otisville until last August.

And he’s still collecting a $6,600-a-month pension courtesy of New York taxpayers.

Silver is sentenced to 6 1/2 years and with good behavior will probably be released early. It’s the minimum justice he richly deserves.
