I agree with Rep. Charles Rangel — we should bring back the draft (“Rangel Eyes Draft Return,” July 8).

First, it would take the thugs off the street and turn them into responsible citizens. A drill sergeant would have them shaped up in no time

With unemployment high among youth, this would give them an education and a career.

It would turn some of the wimps into men and teach them how to deal with responsibility. Many young men have no male role models at home, and, as brilliant as aunts and grandmothers are, there is no way they can control a teenage boy.
