The jury did a good job by acquitting the contractors for the death of the firemen (“Deutsche Fire Verdict Sparks Fury,” July 7).

With all the extra hours firefighters accumulate, and having a firehouse right next door to the Deutsche Bank building, you would think that FDNY members would monitor an unsafe building before sending their colleagues to their deaths and trying to blame everybody else for their lazy work ethics.
