It’s been a tough year for the Yankees.

They’re still in the hunt for a 28th title — but they lost owner George Steinbrenner and PA announcer Bob Sheppard this season.

Now another notable presence has departed: Freddy Schuman, aka Freddy the Fan, who died Sunday of a heart attack at age 85.

For 22 years, Freddy — in a team jacket and carrying a “Freddy ‘Sez’ ” sign — wandered the stadium cheering on the Bombers while banging a shamrock-bedecked frying pan with a spoon.

Retired pans are displayed at the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and the Yogi Berra Museum — and Freddy himself grew so famous that he was featured in a MasterCard commercial.

New York baseball has long had colorful fans — from the old Dodgers Sym-phony and cowbell-clanger Hilda Chester at Ebbets Field, to Karl Ehrhardt, the Sign Man of Shea Stadium.

Add Freddy Schuman to the list.

RIP.
