Andrea Peyser’s column, “Gay Nuptials — This Time It’s Personal,” (June 20) is one of her best.
She articulates how conflicted many of us are on the subject. In the end, we would probably not deny a loved one his or her chance at happiness.
Thanks, Andrea, for helping me decide. As long as there are caveats in the law that protect dissenting religious organizations, I can live with it.

I’m impressed. Peyser finally understands that when it’s your own family, it’s personal.
Blood is thicker than water . . . and politics. It’s difficult to demonize something you know is not the devil.
Once rank-and-file Republicans understand this, the societal craziness of discrimination will cease.

I am happy Peyser’s niece has found a woman whom she loves. However, the hard cases make bad law.
Gay marriage goes against thousands of years of Judeo-Christian tradition.
The wussy Republicans who caved in to Gov. Cuomo should realize that they are infuriating the party base. If they continue to stick their thumbs in our eyes, they will go back to being the minority party in the Senate.
The radical left and its supporters will try to win at all costs. It is sad that Peyser would aid them.
