“How Broadway Emerged From Ruin To Become a Billion-Dollar Business” is a very interesting and thought-provoking summary of the developments that have changed Broadway (PostScript, Michael Riedel, June 12). While I haven’t been following the Broadway scene as closely as I once did, it seems to me that five other factors, while perhaps not as important at the ones Michael Riedel has already mentioned, might also be added to the pot.

These are: the development of TKTS; improved electronic ticketing; a consistently strong tourist industry; short contracts for revolving stars, and the popularity of TV shows featuring New York City, which make New York more than ever the place to be.
