We’re not huge fans of Greta Thunberg’s message, but we have to admire the 16-year-old Swedish climate activist for incidentally exposing the hypocrisy of so many celebrities who sound off on the same theme.

Thunberg arrived in New York on Wednesday in advance of her Sept. 23 speech to the coming UN climate summit — after a two-week voyage aboard a yacht supplied by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.

That is: She pointedly didn’t fly in, and certainly not by carbon-spewing private jet. And while most yachts are also huge gas-guzzlers, this vessel is solar-powered.

What a stark contrast to (to pick only the latest flagrant example) July’s Google climate summit, when stars like Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arrived in scores of private jets and mega-yachts.

Wealth, fame and high-mindedness don’t make your carbon footprint any smaller, folks. If you really believe what you preach, attend your next conference via Skype.
