What a waste of space and ink (“The Israeli Way at the Airport,” Michael J. Totten, PostOpinion, Jan. 5). Michael J. Tottten starts off by stating that Israel has managed to prevent any terrorist attacks originating from Ben-Gurion airport by profiling.

Then he inexplicably writes that America shouldn’t adopt the Israeli system but we should learn from the Israelis that “we need to pay as much attention to ‘who’ gets on airplanes as to what they’re bringing on board.”

How do you propose we do that without profiling? Totten lacks the courage of his convictions and, as a result, his article becomes senseless.
