Thank you for promoting another silly book “The Get-Your-Man-To-Marry-You Plan: Buying the Cow in the Age of Free Milk” designed to exploit the fears of women desperate to be married at any cost (“Make Your Moove,” Oct. 7).

To see that such a book, with a silly title no less, was written by a PhD researcher at Johns Hopkins University is surprising. This book is not based on research but, rather, filled with familiar cliches and stereotypes about women, men, relationships and marriage.

I feel sorry for any woman who feels the need to resort to such outdated and unsupported “advice” just to, as the author proclaims, “get a ring on the finger.”

With all of the women who end up in bad marriages because of this book, perhaps the author will write a follow-up, “The How-To-Get-Rid-Of-Your-Man- Plan.”
