You can’t keep a bad man down.

That’s the lesson from Hiram Mon serrate, who was expelled from the state Senate last year but hasn’t quite disappeared from public, um, service.

It seems Monserrate’s found a new calling — opening up a pizza shop in his old campaign headquarters in Queens, as The Post reported yesterday.

Well, no huge change there — it’s just a different kind of pork dispensary.

Monserrate was indicted for mail fraud last year for funneling $100,000 in taxpayer cash to a charity he controlled and used to campaign for office.

Those still-pending charges were the ugly icing on a career that began in the City Council and ended when he was convicted of assault for slashing his girlfriend.

But these days he’s Hiram the pizzaiolo; done abusing taxpayers, he may have finally found some honest work.

Hardly seems likely.
