After reading your horrendous article on Gov. Paterson and what he did or did not contribute to charity, I have to truly re-evaluate what I believe charity to be (“David’s Duds,” Editorial, April 15).

Charity is what you feel like giving. It is not mandatory for anyone to give anything to charity.

I don’t care if he and his wife earned $35 million, it is their money to give or not give as they choose. This mirrors a larger problem in this country: Everyone feels they are entitled to everything.
