HOKEY HOSP. HOOPLA
In “Vary Odd Hospitals” (April 16), Tom Topousis cites an assemblyman as the single source of his information regarding hospital fees charged to a patient by Mount Sinai.
None of what the assemblyman stated is accurate. The amount charged does not reflect a one-time payment for a one-day stay for the single procedure cited. In fact, it was a very complex medical case that required a series of procedures over the course of many admissions and several months in the hospital.
Additionally, Mount Sinai managed all aspects of the patient’s care, which included billing from multiple providers.
