Paul Rieckhoff gets to the point in his article — all veteran activity, like politics, is essentially local (“What Vets Need From the Prez,” PostOpinion, Feb. 4).

When our soldiers come home, we need to greet them at their homes and make sure their needs are attended to.

In addition to the credits listed at the end of his article, Rieckhoff is the newest member of the NYC Veteran’s Advisory Board. The NYCVAB meets regularly and is charged with advising the mayor’s office of veteran affairs on all matters concerning veterans.
