Jonah Goldberg’s article on the impossibly grotesque story of Asia Bibi, raped and sentenced to death for being a Christian in Pakistan, and the murder of Salmaan Taseer, a Pakistani governor, for defending her, leaves one speechless (“Radical Chic,” PostScript, Jan. 9).

The horror is compounded by the knowledge that 500 leading Muslim scholars not only celebrated the murder but warned that no Muslim should mourn Taseer’s murder or pray for him.

The concluding outrage will be that a way will be found to blame it all on Israel.

As your editorial “Vultures in Yarmulkes?” (Jan. 9) explains, the “Mideast Derangement Disorder — a mix of anti-Semitism and delusion” — is a regional plague.

We are blessed to live in a country where the quickest and best help possible is supplied to our wounded. Who will be helping Asia Bibi?
