I was horrified to read “Death Freeze Trap,” (Jan. 28) as I have traveled the area where the Langners went off the road at least 100 times over the last 12 years.

Because the Langners could not get a cell signal to call for help, Alfred froze to death while Barbara sat next to him, and the Adirondack Park Agency is to blame.

I am a Democrat, but the tree-huggers who control the APA have blocked cell towers for years, and their total disregard for human life is criminal.

There is a one-hour block of no cell service on Interstate 87 in that region, and the safety of all who travel that route is at stake.

I call on Gov. Spitzer to step forward, ignore or disband the APA and erect the cell towers needed to make all drivers safe.
