“Cartier’s ‘Rock’ Hall of Fame” (May 1) refers to “a pear-shaped diamond that, at 231 carats, is the largest in the world.”

This is wrong. At 530.20 carats and also pear-shaped, The Cullinan I, also known as The Star of Africa, is only the second largest in the world.

The largest known cut diamond in the world weighs 546.67 carats and is called The Golden Jubilee, presented to the King of Thailand in 1997.
