IRISH SNUB
John O’Sullivan uses the recent attacks on British army and local police forces in the north of Ireland to drag out old biased accusations (“Murderous Myth,” PostOpinion, March 11). He seems discontent that the belligerents on all sides reached a lasting peace accord.
He chooses to ignore the fact that Ireland was partitioned at the point of arms into its present configuration. The largest nationalist party, Sinn Fein, and its elected representatives have stated that they support peaceful means of reunification. Vitriolic statements like those of O’Sullivan are totally counterproductive at this time when all efforts should be directed to maintaining the peace process.
